What. A. Dream. This day didn’t even feel real – it was such a treat to be surrounded by the people we love so much as we said “I Do” (again). God is so good, and He knows our hearts. When our wedding plans quickly shifted from a big wedding with friends and family to having less than 10 people present, part of me thought that we would just have our small wedding. I would have been okay with that, but I’m so grateful that God made a way for us to have our friends and family present. Getting married the first time was intimate and so meaningful – filled with God’s presence. Our second wedding was celebratory and filled with joy. Both are days I’ll never forget!
I woke up on our second wedding day so filled with gratitude. For months leading up to this day, we didn’t even know if it would happen. BUT!! God’s faithfulness in making this day happen and answering our prayers was overwhelming. I met my bridesmaids and my mom bright and early to have our hair and makeup done at The Estate at Independence. We all changed into our robes and had breakfast together. My mom made the same breakfast casseroles that she made for the first wedding day, and it was delicious! We spent the morning hanging out, taking polaroids, and we even filmed a TikTok.
Once our hair and makeup was done, the photographers and videographers arrived to start documenting our day. This is when the day felt like it was REALLY starting! I put my dress on and went to see my guy for our second first look. It was so funny doing everything a second time, but was still so special to have time to take everything in once more and truly experience it. This time around, there were no nerves โ just a lot of JOY! After our first look, we went off with our photographers and videographers for a few bride and groom portraits. This time with them was exactly what my little creative heart had been dreaming ofโso many iconic photos from our day were taken during this time!
We went back to the estate to get the rest of our wedding party for photos, and this might have been the most entertaining part of our day! Watching 6 golf carts driving down the paths with screaming bridesmaids and groomsmen hanging off the back โ you just had to be there to experience it! Cameron had a signature pose with each of his groomsmen and they’re some of his all-time favorite photos. He was so happy to have all of his best friends by his side for this wedding.
Once we cooled off and got some water, it was time for our ceremony. We lined up and it literally felt like a dream. “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle started to play, and that was my cue! The ceremony was so beautiful and many of our guests have told us “the clouds saved the ceremony – it was perfect”! I couldn’t agree more! At our first wedding, I stared straight into the sun the whole time so it was nice to see Cameron’s face this time. ๐ After our ceremony, we gathered with our family and wedding party for a few more photos before our reception. Our little flower girl and ring bearer had so much fun throwing flower petals at the camera – so so cute!
After bustling my dress and eating a few hors d’oeuvres, we lined up for our entrance. I remember being SO nervous because I knew we were going right into all of the special dances. Dancing is FAR outside of my comfort zone, but it went better than expected! Cameron and I danced (swayed back and forth) to “Two Little Words” by Reuben Koops. My dad and I shared our dance with Cameron and his mom. We danced to “The Blessing” by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes, and I’m so glad we chose that song. It was so special. The rest of our night was filled with eating an incredible dinner, chatting and dancing with friends, and taking a few more photos at sunset. We did a sparkler exit and departed in a golf cart โ it was the perfect night!
This season was far from we expected, but we chose not to focus too much on what was happening in the world. Instead, we fixed our eyes on Jesus and let Him write our story. He’s so faithful โ trust Him with your story.
Thank you all so much for supporting Cameron and I in this season. We have felt an abundance of love from each of you, and couldn’t be more grateful to have you by our sides.
